Amazon has been forced to switch off a high-tech recruiting engine after it began to ignore the CVs of female candidates - Reuters reports.

The company’s recruitment team had hoped to create an AI that would learn what kinds of resume was most successful, then be able to put forward the best applicants to the hiring managers.

    This is exactly what is broken in the job search (individual or company) as the reliance on technology grows. Some great candidates are never considered due to the keyword matching system.

    Saving recruiting fees and staff time just may not be worth the cost of not finding the best people to hire.
