Employer confidence in the prospects for the UK economy has plunged by eight per cent this month to a new record low of -28, a ranking based on business satisfaction - according to REC research.
The latest uncertainties around the political turmoil caused by the UK’s close departure from the EU has affected British industries within both hiring and investment functions, with a six per cent fall in confidence, to minus one – the lowest score since the REC’s employer satisfaction records began back in 2016.
