Telecommunications Company Verizon has released its 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR), which reveals some shocking news for the executives of companies across the world.
The major findings of the DBIR include a study that found C-Suite level executives are now the major focus of social engineering attacks, with 60% of attacks involving hacking a web application being used to compromise email accounts using stolen credentials. By accessing executive’s emails, a hacker has the potential to access far more crucial and sensitive data that they can ransom or sell off.
