Employer hit with backlash for homeless hire

Carrying out a good deed and offering someone a job when they need it most would usually prove to be a positive decision; however, one employer has come under fire for doing just that.

Gary Usher, Chef and Founder of Elite Bistros Group recently offered a homeless man in Manchester a job at his restaurant Kala, after the man asked if he had ‘any jobs?’, reports the BBC.

    You don't need qualifications to be a kitchen porter which is principally washing up, cleaning vegetables etc. The worker can do their food hygiene certificate on line. My son is a chef and supportive of reducing food waste by ensuring needy people can access good quality unwanted food. He has told us how hard it is to find people for catering jobs

    I hope there is a positive outcome for all parties.
