Using AI to recruit employees has been a topic of conversation in the media recently. With McDonald’s partnering with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to streamline the recruitment process and make it more efficient, candidates are now able to simply say: “Alexa, help me get a job at McDonald’s” to kick-start the application process for new recruits in Phoenix.

David Fairhurst, Chief People Officer at McDonald’s said in a statement: “We must continue to innovate and think of creative, and in this case, ground-breaking ways to meet potential jobseekers on devices they are already using, like Alexa.”

    I'm all for leveraging technology and streamlining processes, but can an algorithm really experience the 'gut feeling' that a person does during the hiring process?
