Candidates are still 'exaggerating skills'

As a recruiter, it’s natural to be highly critical of the skills provided on a CV. This is because, whilst the CV is the standardised and often most efficient way of ascertaining a candidate’s suitability for a role, it’s exceptionally easy to lie when writing one.

And this isn’t simply paranoia; HireRight’s 2017 employment screening benchmark report stated that 85% of jobseekers have admitted to falsifying at least one element of their CV – this number has risen dramatically from 66% five years ago.
