Whilst basketball isn’t considered a conventionally popular sport within the UK, the news of Kobe Bryant’s death made the front pages of news outlets all over the world when it was announced on Sunday.
This is because the Los Angeles Lakers player’s career transcended the medium from which it was formed. Bryant was a five-time world champion and is, to many, considered to be one of the finest players the game has ever had, which makes the announcement of his passing at the age of just 41-years-old even more tragic.
