The career ladder is a long and laborious thing to climb. As you gain seniority, this often comes with more work and more stress, but also more compensation. And whilst a bigger paycheque is an aspiration of most professionals, does it actually make you happy? Does it increase wellbeing?
These are questions that the ONS addressed in its latest user survey which covered everything to do with finances and wellbeing within the workplace. Happiness was calculated by asking adults aged 16 and over to rate on a scale of 0 to 10 where 0 was not at all and 10 was completely happy, how happy they were feeling.
