Whilst anxiety and lapses in productivity due to mental wellbeing are at an all-time high due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the latest research from Harvard Business Review has illustrated a strong link between empowering frontline employees, like retail merchandisers, doctors, and banking relationship managers, and organisational performance.
The report, titled: “The New Decision Makers: Equipping Frontline Workers For Success,” polled 464 business executives from 16 industry sectors in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The study found that organisations will be more successful when frontline workers are empowered to make important decisions in the moment, but the reality is that few are equipping their workers with the resources to do so.
