In a televised national address, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week announced that, to stem the resurgence of coronavirus within the UK, new laws would be put in place once again limiting the number of people that can meet. The news came as cases rose to levels seen only in early summer.
The new rules, which come into effect today (September 14, 2020) and reduce the number of people that can attend social gatherings both indoors and outdoors to six, were implemented as a reaction to what a Government scientific adviser told the Telegraph was an ‘exponential growth’ in the number of confirmed cases currently hitting the UK.
