Who is... Michael Fuchs?

Michael Fuchs, a key ally of Angela Merkel, has cautioned that Brexit talks will remain in a deadlock unless Theresa May stands up to Boris Johnson.

The Independent reports that Fuchs, Vice Chairman of Merkel’s party, has blamed Johnson for the current situation, saying that he was stopping the UK Government from making a proper offer.  “Theresa May has to come up with decent proposals,” Fuchs said. “Whatever she is offering, Boris Johnson is saying it’s too much. Otherwise she would come up with other proposals. The problem is she has internal trouble in the Tories.”
