Axis Bank appoints Egon Zehnder to find new CEO
| Executive Grapevine International Ltd
Axis Bank – India’s third largest private bank – has appointed Egon Zehnder to lead its search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
Shikha Sharma, who was placed in the role eight years ago by the same search firm, is set to step down next year.
The bank is hoping to have its new leader by December, according to sources – Hunts Canlon reports.
The Mumbai-based Axis Bank has been battling a profit slump for five straight quarters, exchange filings show. Despite this, shares of the bank more than tripled in the eight years of Sharma’s rein.
